May 29th Hail Storm Drops 1" Hail Across St. Johns County

🧊 May 29th Storm Drops 1.25" Hail on Fruit Cove and Green Cove Springs

A strong hail and wind storm hit St. Johns County on May 29th, 2025, with radar-confirmed hail up to 1 inches in diameter. This size of hail is large enough to cause serious damage to roofs, siding, gutters, and more — especially in older roofing systems.

📍 Areas in the Damage Path:

  • Fruit Cove
  • Green Cove Springs
  • Bayard
  • Julington Creek / Mandarin
  • Areas along I-95 north of St. Augustine
My attached hail map shows the full storm footprint, which impacted over 14,000 homes.

🛠️ Recent Roof Inspection — Real Damage Found

I inspected a roof inside the hail core zone and found:
  • Bruising and cracking of shingles
  • Granule loss from direct hail impact
  • Wind-related lifting along ridge caps and valleys
  • Multiple areas where recaulking was required to prevent future leaks
This is valid, insurable storm damage, and I’m helping the homeowner submit a claim now.

⚠️ Why Timing Matters

If your roof was hit by hail this size, you may not see leaks yet — but your roof’s integrity and insurance coverage could already be compromised. Most policies have a limited claim window, and inspections are free.
✅ We provide full documentation and assist during the claim
✅ Many homeowners qualify for full roof replacement
✅ No payment unless insurance approves the work
